The term Trencad\u00eds is a translation from Catalan. The general Spanish translation would be \u201ebr\u00fcchig\u201c and is based on a type of hydraulic mosaic made from blocks of fliesen, which have been merged together. The result is a body, a hand, a foot or a skull with a different and characteristic effect.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Trencad\u00eds is an expression of the great architect Antoni Gaud\u00ed, although it is true that this was already an experiment.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

This is one of Gaud\u00ed's most famous buildings, although it was not without controversy. The name La Pedrera was originally a spelling, and it was built between 1906 and 1912. Trencad\u00eds was used for the roofs of this house in the Eixample district of Barcelona.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Today they are perfectly preserved and the building is in perfect condition.
